Home Sweet Home

We've been home for about a month now, here are some highlights from our first few days home...

Here we are leaving the hospital to go HOME!

So happy to be leaving!

Jake greeted us in the driveway when we got home. He wasn't quite sure what to make of Anna.

Big brother Jake giving his sister a kiss.

In this picture I think Jake is still in shock that he has a little sister.

This is what Anna did most of the time when we got home-sleep.

I think she's getting used to the camera!

Jacob turns 21 months old!

I realize Jacob is about to turn 22 months old, but without a computer it's been difficult to update the blog. Here are some pictures of how Jake spent his time when we were at the hospital:

Welcome Home Anna

We finally welcomed Anna home Sunday night! When the nurse told us we were ready to be discharged I thought it was too good to be true. We packed up and left before they could change their minds! We are all VERY happy to be home together as a family. Anna is doing great, she's your typical 1 month old baby: eats and sleeps.

Pictures coming soon...

Anna Update

Anna is recovering nicely. She's all healthy and we're just waiting for her to get the hang of feeding. We're hoping to be coming home sometime this week!

Jake is starting to warm up to his "baby", he even gives her kisses!

A snapshot of one of the many moments I'm holding Anna...

Grandpa came into town to visit with Anna. I think she loves all the attention!

I think Jake likes the attention too!

Anna at 12 hours old

Here's a little video clip of Anna when she was about 12 hours old. The tube in her nose was a feeding tube, which we used to feed her until she started nursing.

Anna update: She's 4 days post-op and doing a good job now of maintaining her blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen saturation. Each day has it's ups and downs, but overall she's doing good. If she keeps this up they'll close her chest tomorrow (the surgeons left it open after surgery due swelling and high pressure, happens a lot in surgeries like this). We're getting there slowly but surely!

Anna Grace Taylor

Anna Grace Taylor was born on August 13th at 12:02 am. She weighed in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long.

Jake came to visit his baby sister when she was a few days old. He wouldn't give her a kiss, but he did share his goldfish with her.

Mother and daughter, hand in hand.
We enjoyed 5 days together in the hospital before surgery. We spent all 5 days holding her!

Anna went into surgery yesterday (Monday), the surgery was a huge success. She's in the Cardiac ICU now and will be for about a week or so (maybe more, maybe less). After the ICU she'll be in a regular room until we go home. We're hoping for a speedy recovery!

Jacob is 20 Months Old!

Jacob is 20 months old. It feels like just yesterday he turned 19 months old, time flies!

We went out to celebrate Aunt Karen's birthday (I think it's her 22nd birthday).

Jake being shy!

I thought it would be fun to pull up a chair for Jake to stand on so he could watch me bake. Now all he wants to do it stand on the chair to do anything!

Hey Dude...

Grandma and Grandpa are here! We're all anxiously awaiting the arrival of baby girl taylor!

Saying "Jane" and "Baby"

Jacob has been talking up a storm lately. His most clear word is "baby". He is in the process of learning his cousin's names too, so far he can say "Jane". These are among his favorites and he says them all day long.

Jacob is 19 months old!

Okay, I have to admit I've been slipping with the pictures and blog updates. To be honest, this month I've resorted to using OTHER people's pictures since I haven't taken any! Having said that, Jacob turned 19 months old!

We've had some more hot days, what better way to spend a hot day than at the beach with friends! Here's Jake with his friend Chase.
On a not so hot day we went and had ice cream with Grammy and Papa. Jake actually didn't even have any ice cream, but his pregnant mama had her fair share!

We had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa last month. Jake had so much fun with them, and even learned his first 2 syllable word: "gran-pa"

The Taylors, Fultons and Grandma and Grandpa went to Margarita's Restaurant with all the kids in tow. Needless to say, we took over the place.

The Jorgenen Girls

Monkey business!

Jake and I headed up to Maine to celebrate the Fulton Girls' birthday's.

We just couldn't get Jake to sit still for a picture, but in this case trying to was half the fun.

Cousin Jonathan sharing some raisins with Jake.

This poor, poor dog. He tried to hide everywhere but Jake always found him.

He takes his milk drinking very seriously...

Since baby Taylor's heart will need some fixing up when she's born, we switched hospitals. They use 3D imaging for ultrasounds at the new hospital, so we got to see a pretty clear picture of her last week. Jay thinks she looks like Jake, I just can't tell. Either way, she's adorable!
We spent the 4th of July with the Taylors. Jake spent most the day eating messy treats and running around outside.

Jake loooooooooooves playing in Papa's truck. So many nobs and switches to play with.

Happy 4th of July!

Uncle Jay didn't know what he was getting into when he put Jake on his shoulders. Jake's messy snack turned into some pretty colorful hair for Uncle Jay!
