Jacob is 17 months old!

What can I say, the boy loves animals! Not sure if this chicken was more interested in Jacob, or if Jacob was more interested in him.

These chickens got real close to the fence real fast! This is Jacob turning to run away!

We've had a few rainy days recently. Since playing outdoors wasn't an option, we retreated indoors and took a trip to "The Met" (Children's Metamorphosis Museum). This shot was complete with sound effects, Jacob saying "roooooooaaaaaaaaaarrrr" each time he picked up a new dinosaur.

Jacob the fireman!

To the rescue! (we thought Jacob's soon to be Uncle Jay would like this picture...)

We also checked out a Children's Science Museum. Jacob LOVED IT there. This tunnel really has nothing to do with science, but it definitely kept him busy.

Posing with an exhibit.

Jacob and I had a little lunch date together after the Science Museum. We sat outside since it was so nice out. The restaurant was right on a main street so Jacob spent the whole time watching cars, trucks and motorcycles drive by. This was the only time I could get him to turn around and face me! BTW Mom and Dad, there was a Margarita's Restaurant right next door (translation: visiting NH just got more fun!).

Here's Jake wrestling with Jackson. As you can tell from Jackson's expression, he's gotten quite used to this daily routine!
Jacob's room was just painted. This will be his new room when the baby comes. He's not quite ready for a big boy bed, so he'll be borrowing cousin Stevie's crib for a little while.

His new obsession: riding down the slide at the park. I prefer the small slide where he can ride down himself, he prefers the big slide that I have to go down with him. Quite the sight to see a large pregnant mom going down a slide with a toddler!

Climbing the rock wall (now I know how he learned to climb on top of the dining room table with all the chairs pushed in!).

Peak-a-boo!

No trip to the playground would be complete without saying hi to the geese, or as Jake says "deeeese".

"No time to chat deeese, I'm a busy guy"!

A video of Jake kissing.

Letter from Grandpa

Jacob LOVES opening mail. So it was a special treat to receive a letter in the mail from Grandpa today. Thanks for thinking of me Grandpa!

Marathon Monday

A few of our friends were in town from San Diego this weekend. Todd even ran the Boston Marathon today and made great time. We all went down to cheer him on at the finish line!

Here's Jake and Jack in deep discussion about...crayons.

Our little Jake was one tired boy after a day full of fun and excitement!

Some Spring Pictures

With all this nice weather we've been having, we've been spending a lot of time outside.

Jacob's favorite outdoor activity this week was digging with his shovel. When the shovel wasn't good enough, he would use his hands! Needless to say, we had many baths this week...

The weather got SO warm that we got out the shorts, short sleeves and sandals. We're hoping this nice weather sticks around.

The outside of our house is being painted so we don't have the screens in. Even though the window is only open a crack, Jacob took this opportunity to toss some of his toys out the window onto the driveway. I should have known when he was spending a lot of time over at the window!

BUSTED!

Jacob is 16 months old

We've got a little outdoors man on our hands. We've been getting outside as much as possible with all this nice weather. The problem is, we can't get Jacob back inside!

When we were at this playground last summer Jacob would stand up and hold on to these bars, his head barely reaching the very bottom of the bars. My guess is next summer he'll be climbing up the side to the top!

Jacob behind bars!

Jacob's new 4 wheeler

I snuck away to Jacksonville to visit my parents, when I came back Jason had bought Jacob a motorized 4-wheeler. Here's Jacob in action!

Easter 2008

This isn't the best family picture since we all look half asleep (or in Jake's case, licking the rest of the ice cream off his fingers), but it's the only one from Easter! We had a nice Easter this year with the Taylor Family.

Jake had so much fun hunting for Easter eggs, playing with his new toys and following his second cousin Mikela around!

Family Update

We're excited about baby #2 due to arrive August 14th. We recently found out the baby is a GIRL! Jacob has no idea what's going on except he is curious as to why my bellly is getting bigger and he points to it often!

Jacob is 15 months old!

As Jacob gets older the meals get messier. His favorite messy meal is spaghetti.

It got real quiet in the family room. I peaked my head in only to find Jacob sitting in the chair! He had emptied all the contents of the desk drawer while he was up there.

He managed to find some time to catch up on email though!

We are enjoying the "warm" weather (you can stop laughing all you San Diegians and Floridians) and getting outside a lot. Jacob LOVES pointing at any bird, squirrel or dog that goes by.

Jacob had a BLAST at his cousin Jonathan's Birthday party. He couldn't get enough of his older cousins.

He also couldn't get enough of Max! Poor Max put up with a lot of abuse from Jacob that day, while Jackson stayed at home and had "the day off".

I bet Aunt Jill never expected to see this many kids at their kitchen table!

Jake's first time sledding

Jake went sledding for the first time today. We're not sure if he really enjoyed it, or if he was just excited to have Jackson chase after the sled!

Snow-shoeing

We headed to America's Stonehedge for a little winter hike. We're standing in front of a few little huts made of stone. The stones in the background are said to be the oldest structures in North America, nearly 4000 years old.
Notice Jay doesn't actually have snow-shoes on, they ran out of his size at the rental place! Luckily the snow on the trails was pretty packed down that it didn't matter. Jake seemed to have a great time. He spent the whole hike babbling and pointing things out.

Jacob is 14 Months Old!

We went to a arcade that had a toddler area. It's a good thing we didn't end up buying tokens because the only thing Jake wanted to do was walk up and down the stroller ramp!

Jake's at the age where he gets upset when his Daddy has to go to work in the morning. The first thing he does after Jay leaves is run to this window to wave good-bye.

I think his middle name should be "trouble". While I was in the other room cleaning up the dog food (Jake had just turned the dog bowl upside down) Jake was busy on his next project. Notice the dozens of ziplock baggies in the foreground. Can that face look anymore guilty?

Enjoying a snack at his kiddie table.

Happy Valentines Day! Jake dumped out his bag when we got home from a Valentine Party. He read each and every card again and again!

Jacob is 13 months old!

Jake is proving to be an active little 13 month old! Now that he's walking, he's ALL over the house. He's constantly in "exploring" mode.

Christmas 2007

We had a great Christmas this year! First we headed up to Maine for some big time fun!

And of course, opened lots of gifts.

I think these two are going to be nothing but trouble together in a few years...

Merry Christmas!

When we got back from Maine, Christmas continued with Grammy, Papa and Aunt Karen.

Jake prefers to open gifts one small piece of paper at a time...

but I think Aunt Karen had the right idea!
